POVZETEK
Vsaj od prazgodovinskih vrezov ljudje z upodabljanjem prostora razlagamo in povezujemo znanje o svetu, ga uporabljamo kot sredstvo mišljenja, raziskovanja in razumevanja razmerij v prostoru. Zgodnjim formaliziranim egipčanskim sistemom registrske delitve, pripovednim rimskim mozaikom, analitičnim risbam šole Beaux Arts in sodobnim digitalnim tehnikam je sorodno načelo združevanja gradnikov v celote, ki razkrivajo odnose, funkcije in pomene, ki bi jih posamični elementi težko izrazili sami. Takšne sestavljene podobe delujejo kot orodja, ki ne prikazujejo zgolj posnetka prostora, temveč ga interpretirajo kot zaporedje postopkov, kot plastenje meril ali kot pripovedno-analitične povezave. V prispevku je osvetljena etimološka povezava med sestavljanjem ali kompozicijo in učinkovitim sporočanjem, ki je v nadaljevanju prikazana preko predstavitve in razčlembe izbranih zgodovinskih primerov podob, ki uporabljajo premišljen način sestavljanja gradnikov, ki omogoča učinkovito sporočanje. Primeri vodijo do analitičnih arhitekturnih risb 19. in 20. stoletja in današnjem naboru digitalnih in analognih medijev, na podlagi katerih se odpira razmislek o ustvarjanju sestavljenih prikazov prostora v različnih obdobjih in njihovi vlogi danes, ko digitalni pristopi in nova orodja umetne inteligence omogočajo nove načine dela. Danes nastajajoče podobe morajo še vedno odgovarjati na zahtevo po razumevanju prostora, na katero lahko odgovorijo v obliki pristopa, ki deluje kot miselno orodje, ki združuje opazovanje in interpretacijo odnosov, ki se v njem pojavljajo, v eni večplastni likovni celoti.
